Randonneurs Singapore Audax

Welcome to Randonneurs Singapore Audax pages.

We are a group of riders from many different nationalities and of different ages, who delight in riding for a very long time here in Singapore, Malaysia and beyond. If you are interested in joining us on our 150km+ rides, please contact audax@anzacycling.com for more information on up and coming rides or have a look on our calendar.

We must stress that since you are to spend most or at least half of a day in the saddle, you need to be in good cycling condition. However, we have a “no drop policy” on all our rides so should you have a flat 80km from home, we will stay with you.

Our rides emphasize camaraderie, fun and community. We all share a love of cycling so much that we can’t get enough of turning those cranks and listening to the sweet sound of rubber on asphalt.

Due to the tropical climate here in Singapore and Malaysia, we encourage you to pay specific attention to the elements. As it can be frightfully hot out there on the roads with very high humidity, hydration is essential. We attempt to have water stops every 50-70km and also lunch and snack-breaks along the way.

For long distance rides it is essential you carry the following: Passport and green card (for rides into Malaysia), 2 spare tubes, money, food, water and sunscreen. It is also your responsibility that your bike is in good working order. Please check your tyres regularly as well as making sure there are no loose nuts or bolts.

Every four years, our goal is to be able to mount a team of riders who will represent the Club and Singapore in the “Holy Grail” of long distance rides; The Paris Brest Paris, which is THE 1200km endurance ride that takes place in northern France. (Please read Denise’s and Andrew’s accounts of their 2007 participation under the Reports menu). The next PBP is in 2011 and we are well into the preparation stage.
