Support The Pedal Power Association Finally, please don’t forget that we are collecting any old unused/unwanted cycling kit for charity at Coffee Bean after the Saturday morning rides as per Guy Smith’s email below: Singapore escapee and former ANZA Cyclist, Rita Sully, has bought the work of The Pedal Power Association to our attention. PPA is South Africa's largest cycling organisation and helps run the famous Cape Argus Cycle Tour that has been enjoyed by many ANZA riders. Importantly, PPA runs various development cycling projects in South Africa townships helping underprivileged kids get into the sport and their programs are proving to be an enormous success. PPA has the following plea: WANTED: YOUR OLD CYCLING KIT! We urgently need cycling clothes in smaller sizes for our development and transformation projects in rural areas. In particular, we need cycling pants, tops, arm and leg warmers, gloves and rain jackets The club will support PPA by donating any remaining unsold ANZA kit from previous years (much of which is appropriately in smaller sizes). If you would like to donate, wash that old but serviceable kit, put it in your back pocket and bring it along to Coffee bean this Saturday where I will have a big bag to collect it. 2nd collection perhaps the following Saturday. Small sizes are best but all sizes gladly accepted. The club will undertake to send it (if anyone is travelling to Safrica soon please let me know).
